Bandits have killed a 27-year-old man named Abba in Jere town, Kaduna State, after he delivered a ₦16 million ransom and three motorcycles for the release of nine abducted residents. Abba, who was involved in the negotiation and delivery of the ransom, was shot dead by the bandits.

Shuaibu Hussaini, a resident of the area, confirmed the incident, stating that the bandits had invaded houses at Unguwar Iya in Jere on April 16, 2024, and demanded ₦30 million. Abba was killed last Saturday after he delivered the ransom and motorcycles.

Hussaini revealed that one of the victims disclosed the bandits' leader's dissatisfaction with Abba during the negotiation, which led to his murder. Family members who tried to locate Abba were instructed by the bandits to collect his corpse from a specific location. The death of Abba has thrown the community into mourning, while the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to confirm the incident.
